Matter of Trust ( http://matteroftrust.org/ ) is an amazing, progressive, forward- thinking nonprofit involved in so many environmental issues. I have had the pleasure of knowing Lisa (Matter of Trust Leadership) for over 20 years. We met when SF Hotels/Nonprofits Collaboration was in its formative years of hotels donating their surplus to the local community. Matter of Trust is a 501c3 and is our fiscal sponsor. So every gift- in- kind and financial donation to Food Runners SONOMA County can be a tax deduction!!

A section of Sonoma Raceway’s extensive and impressive race track.
Redwood Gospel Mission (RGM) was the recipient of this bounteous donation. RGM’s Chris Keys, Matt Sutton, met Bob Hills of the Indy Car Ministry. Bob Hills initiated and coordinated the generous hospitality suite donations through Food Runners SONOMA County’s Director, June Michaels.
Have just begun working with the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County to get the “free food” notice to nonprofits who serve our local hungry. Rachel McDavid and Jaime Smedes are absolute pleasures to work with. We had our first of more-to-come intros to Food Runners Sonoma County.
Met with Tim Boeve of Sonoma Raceway to discuss next year’s races and food donation possibilities. They truly understand the importance of food donations. I am so excited to work with Tim and his team to help feed our local hungry.
We will be in the 2015 Sonoma County Recycle Guide to get the word out about donating excess food!! Big Thank You to Karina!
The Sonoma County Green Business Program is interested in collaborating, too! We are meeting next week! Thank you, Karina, for the referral.
County Line Harvest, Inc. generously donated 15 huge bags of chard and lettuce which were quickly delivered to COTS, Petaluma and Redwood Gospel Mission in Santa Rosa. Our fabulous volunteers picked it up and took it to its destination the same day, we don’t store food. Our goal is to get local produce and prepared foods not used by events and restaurants into the hands of the hungry in our county. This program is being successfully run in San Francisco, and has sister organizations in many other locations in the Bay Area. We are inspired by the work of Foodrunners in San Francisco, and their thirty years of success feeding the hungry utilizing existing nonprofits.
